Yahweh
Sabaoth is one of God’s names in the Bible.
·
It occurs more
than 270 times in the Old Testament.
·
The Hebrew word,
sabaoth, meaning “host” or “multitude.” So Yahweh Sabaoth means “The Lord of
Hosts.”
·
This is the ‘military’
name of God, The Lord is the Commander of the hosts. His hosts are the angels
which surround His throne. “ten thousand times ten thousand” (Daniel 7:10).
·
Isaiah
specifically identifies the Lord of Hosts as our Redeemer. “Our Redeemer, the
Lord of hosts is His name, the Holy One of Israel (Isaiah 47:4, see also 44:6;
54:5). This name for God emphasizes His power and authority over the multitudes
of earth and heaven. When Jesus came to Earth to redeem us, He repeatedly
demonstrated His power over the forces of Satan.

Jehovah Sabaoth
is first used in 1 Samuel 1:3. "The Lord of Armies" (1 Samuel 1:3).
This name denotes His universal sovereignty ( dominion) rules over all and
every army and the universe.. The Lord of Hosts is the king of all heaven and
earth. (Psalm 24:9-10; Psalm 84:3; Isaiah 6:5). Thus Jehovah Sabaoth,
emphasizes the power and might of our God.

1 Samuel 1:
11childless Hannah, who wanted a son so badly and earnestly prayed that the
Lord would grant her the desire of her heart. He is also the Lord of each
individual person who comes to Him, weary and in need of His blessing.In your
darkest hour, the almighty Lord of Hosts will hear you and comfort you as if
you were the only person on earth needing His attention. Your troubles are
never too small for Him to notice.
Lessons that we can learn:

is almighty, all things are possible with Him

is able to meet my need today
3.
When we are powerless and when there is no
other help, Jehovah Sabaoth is the
Strong Tower into which we can run.
4. The cries of the reapers have reached the
ears of the Lord of Sabaoth (James 5:4).
5. Lord of Host give us Victory over the enemies.
Israelites believed that if
the Lord of Host comes with us, surely get victory. And who "went forth
with them" (Psalms 44:9) and led them to defeating 31 nations in victory.
6. The presence of the Lord of Hosts is always with us in the journey of our life. Exodus 33:14-16 The LORD replied, “My Presence will
go with you, and I will give you rest.” Then Moses said to him, “If your
Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here.
