Set apart for God

Set apart 1Pet 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvellous light. 1 Peter 1:16 Since, it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.” Introduction. ·          Jesus has consecrated us and set us apart for a higher purpose. ·          Given a very plain and explicit commandment. ·          But Israelites failed to heed Jehovah's call to separation. ·          So, the believer's failure to heed God's call to separation is the cause of the       powerlessness and lack of blessing in the individual and the church.   1.       Separate ourselves from every form of sin . 2 Cor. 7:1 . … let us purify ourselves from everything...

Good disciples are always involved in Evangelism.

Good disciples are always involved in Evangelism.    Matthew 21:1-11   We have beautiful lessons from the Palm Sunday story . Please note some of the good qualities of the disciples. We need to follow these characters in our lives to be His disciples. 1.       Ears to listen. Vss. 1-5 Jesus gave specific instructions to His disciples regarding the donkey and colt. He undoubtedly told them to go to a particular village and what to say to the villagers etc. Jesus is always specific in his direction and commands. We need an ear to listen and follow, listen and obey. While proclaiming the Gospel, God will give you the needed message and words Luke 12:12. The first step in the Evangelistic mission is to listen to the Master, then follow his guidelines for success.   2.       Feet to go. Vs. 6a The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. A soldier always obeys his master’s command ...

LOVE FOR THE PERISHING SOULS IS THE BASIC NEED FOR THE EVANGELISM

LOVE FOR THE PERISHING SOULS IS THE BASIC NEED FOR THE EVANGELISM. (Rev. E. Rajan) The Scriptures make it far too clear that evangelism and soul-winning is not an option; it is your Christian duty to evangelize so as to win souls for the Lord Jesus Christ – be a soul winner. Numbers 16:48 says that ‘ Moses stood between the living and the dead, and the plague stopped. Acts 20:31 Paul says that "Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears". So, winning others for Christ is a duty and responsibility given to every saved believer of Christ. I. The Importance of Love for Souls. 1. Because love for souls is an essential element of Christ-like character. Not to have a love for souls is to be radically unlike Christ.  2. Because love for souls is necessary to successful efforts for their salvation.  3. Because lack of love for souls reveals either great hardness of heart or inexcusable igno...

WHY MISSION OF CHRIST?

Why Mission of Christ?  ( R ev . D r . E. Rajan) Christ was the first missionary sent by the Father to redeem mankind. He loved the people so much that he sent only His begotten son. The author of missionary work is God himself. As a saved people of God, we do proclaim the Good News to everyone due to the Love. We do it because He commanded us to do it. Evangelism or soul winning is the work of God given to us. 1) mission is THE PROMISE of god (G en 12:1-3) After the fall of the human, God planned to send a saviour to crush the head of the enemy Gen.3:15 Rom 16:20. God has promised to bless all nations (or people groups) on the earth through a chosen person, a chosen community. 2) Mission is THE PURCHASE of christ (REV 5:9) Jesus paid the penalty of our sins in the cross. We are washed by the blood of Jesus, so, you were bought at a price (1 Cor.6:20). Jesus has already purchased people from every tribe and nation with His blood. Rev. 5:9 … because you were slain...

Great Commission of Jesus Christ and World Evangelism

Great Commission of Jesus Christ and World Evangelism Rev. E. Rajan A simple definition of the Great Commission: “The task given by Jesus to the Church through the disciples that authorize it to carry the gospel everywhere so that all peoples might have opportunity to believe on Christ as their Saviour and become life-long followers of him.”  “Great Commission” mission statements:  Matthew 28:18-20; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:44-49; John 20:21; and Acts 1:8.  All five of the Great Commission passages have this intent at their core. These passages function as the hinge between the four Gospels and the rest of the New Testament.  They are the “go” command to the church. These passages contain all the essential ingredients for a successful mission.  “Without question, these five mission statements of Jesus make up the missional Magna Carta of the Church, from its inception, for today, and into the future.”   1.  Parti...
